Job Overview

ResponsibilitiesSupport power generation design projects, including leading multiple design and engineering projects or administration tasks simultaneously. Perform power generation and distribution design, renewable energy design, protection and motor control design, power system studies, construction and equipment specification development, and balance‑of‑plant designs such as raceway, lighting, and grounding systems.
Preferred Qualifications- Protection and control design experience including setting calculations and electronic files development.
- Instrumentation and controls experience, particularly with DCS and PLC systems.
- Field experience, including startup and commissioning.
- Experience in renewable energy (PV, BESS, etc.) and DER or “microgrid” projects.
- Previous experience with an engineering power consulting firm.
- Willingness to grow into a team lead or section manager role.
- Knowledge and experience with three‑phase electrical power, protection and control design, system grounding, physical design, and other activities such as lighting and grounding design, instrumentation and control and life safety systems.
- Capable computer skills in Microsoft Office and standard Power Market Sector design software (examples include ETAP, SKM, Easy Power, CYMCAD, PSCAD, etc.).
- Conduct work sessions and project meetings, and/or participate in reviews at the project site in conjunction with the Project Manager and other disciplines and provide construction contract administration as needed.
- Develop project schematic design and contract document phase of a project, including reviewing project documents, writing project specifications, and coordinating areas of conflict with other disciplines.
- Coordinate with and assist affected disciplines with addenda, RFIs, change orders, JSAs and take responsibility to incorporate agreed‑upon changes into the project documents.
- Conduct QA/QC on the work of other Engineers, Project Coordinators, or Designers.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
- Professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered (e.g., Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng)).
- Previous experience in project execution within the Power Market Sector.
- Computer skills in Microsoft Office and standard Power Market Sector design software (examples include PLS CAD, AutoCAD, Plant 3D, Auto Pipe, and Revit).
