Principal Bridge Engineer

Parsons is a leading engineering and construction firm dedicated to designing and delivering critical infrastructure.

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Principal Bridge Engineer to join our team in St. Louis
. In this role you will work with a world‑class team of engineers on major infrastructure projects.

• Perform a variety of structural engineering duties on infrastructure projects.
• May function as discipline Project Engineer on medium to large projects, assuming responsibility for the work of the group.
• May plan, direct, and supervise the work of a major engineering unit.
• Lead other Engineers and design personnel in technical excellence and growth in the Quality Improvement Process.
• Provide technical consultations for interdisciplinary analytical studies and analyses.
• Ensure compliance of design with all applicable codes and regulations, providing the seal and signature of the professional engineer when required by statute or contract.
• Help determine budget estimates and staffing requirements for the defined scope and schedule. May assist with other administrative and technical duties.
• Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (or related field) and typically 10+ years of related work experience.
• Professional Engineer registration in the field of Civil or Structural required.
• Familiarity with industry practices and regulations required.
• Must possess a thorough knowledge of current technology and be able to select and apply appropriate engineering software for use on project.
• Potential to perform in a lead capacity.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

• Project management experience preferred but not required.
• Enthusiastic to work in highly flexible, team‑oriented environment.
• Experience designing complex bridge structures.
• Experience on large design‑build projects and other alternative delivery projects.
• Maintains affiliation with professional societies to keep abreast of current technologies.
• Recommends and prepares technical papers.
• Ability to determine budget estimates and staffing requirements for the defined scope and schedule on a project.
• Other administrative and technical skills.
