The Surveying Technician is a full‑time, on‑site role based in St Louis, MO. This role supports field and office survey activities, including assisting with collecting accurate field data, and assisting with topographic, boundary, and ALTA, surveys. The Surveying Technician will work closely with licensed surveyors and engineers to interpret research and field notes, and ensure data is properly documented and transferred to drafting or CAD drawings.
Day‑to‑day responsibilities include land records research, drafting and meeting quality standards on every project. The role may also involve basic data processing, coordination with project managers on schedules and project requirements, and occasional interaction with clients or site representatives.
- Basic knowledge in land surveying tasks, including boundary and ALTA Surveys. Mentorship is available if needed.
- Experience with field operations such as Field Work and Topographic Surveys, including the use of GPS, total stations, and data collectors is a plus.
- Basic knowledge of survey data processing and CAD or mapping software (e.g., AutoCAD Civil 3D or similar) is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail, ability to follow instructions and survey standards, and commitment to accurate measurements and documentation.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, lift and carry survey equipment, and travel to local job sites as needed.
- Effective communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with survey crews, engineers, and project managers.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical coursework or an associate degree in surveying, civil engineering technology, or a related field is a plus.
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
