Mechanical Engineer, Building Services Engineer
Location: 401 South 18th Street, Suite 400, St. Louis, MO, 63103, United States

Horner & Shifrin is seeking a full-time Senior Mechanical Engineer with 10+ years’ experience. This position requires understanding of mechanical designs and calculations for HVAC systems. Responsibilities will include design, load analysis, site surveys, RFI and submittal reviews.
Position Responsibilities / Duties- Design of Mechanical HVAC, Chilled and Hot Water Piping, Steam and Building Automation systems for education, commercial, municipal and healthcare buildings.
- Responsible for preparing Mechanical systems project construction documents and specifications.
- QA/QC of other Mechanical engineers.
- Licensed Professional Engineer
- Knowledge of Plumbing, Medical Gas, Natural Gas and Fire Protection systems and design is a benefit.
- Knowledge of Trace 3D
- Knowledge of REVIT
- Ability to research related codes and standards to ensure design compliance
- Ability to traverse sites, including walking through projects under construction
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Critical thinking and analysis
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Excel, Word)
- Must possess a valid driver’s license
- Must complete a background check
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an emphasis in Mechanical systems.
Salary RangeHorner & Shifrin, Inc. offers a comprehensive total rewards package and is committed to fair, competitive, market-based compensation. The target salary range for this position is $110,000-$145,000. Compensation for the successful candidate will consider the candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, and geographic location.
