Senior Mechanical Engineer

Horner & Shifrin is seeking a full-time Senior Mechanical Engineer with 10+ years’ experience. This position requires understanding of mechanical designs and calculations for HVAC systems. Responsibilities will include design, load analysis, site surveys, RFI and submittal reviews.

• Design of Mechanical HVAC, Chilled and Hot Water Piping, Steam and Building Automation systems for education, commercial, municipal and healthcare buildings.
• Responsible for preparing Mechanical systems project construction documents and specifications.
• QA/QC other Mechanical engineers

• Licensed Professional Engineer
• Knowledge of Plumbing, Medical Gas, Natural Gas and Fire Protection systems and design is a benefit.
• Knowledge of Trace 3D
• Knowledge of REVIT
• Ability to research related codes and standards to ensure design compliance
• Ability to traverse sites, including walking through projects under construction
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Critical thinking and analysis
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Excel, Word)
• Must possess a valid driver’s license
• Must complete a background check

Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an emphasis in Mechanical systems.

Horner & Shifrin, Inc. offers a comprehensive total rewards package and is committed to fair, competitive, market-based compensation. The target salary range for this position is $110,000-$145,000. Compensation for the successful candidate will consider the candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, and geographic location.
