The Department of Transportation has an opportunity for a Project Manager assigned to work in the Project Development division. This position will be responsible for developing design plans, schedules and budget for roadway and signal projects.
The Project Manager will be based out of the Department of Transportation/Public Works offices in Creve Coeur. This position will be filled at the I, II or III level depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate. The annual starting salary will be as follows and will be based on experience and qualifications:
Project Manager I: $61,193 - $91,811
Project Manager II $65,790 - $98,696
Project Manager III: $70,720 - $106,080

Examples of Duties
* Responsible for the development of design plans, schedules and budgets forroadway projects.
* Applies appropriate engineering principles, practices and regulatory requirements to roadway design projects.
* Assists with managing external design consultants.
* Analyzes and review design plans, plan quantities, survey data, utility relocation plans, and maps in accordance with general engineering principles, reference manuals, standard drawings, and specifications.
* Calculates cost and determines feasibility of project based on analysis of collected data.
* Prepares engineering reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules and environmental impact studies and bid packages for solicitation.
* Prepare project related displays and graphics for public meetings and website content.
* Performs field checks to document field conditions, gather measurements, and verify design feasibility.
* Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Applicants with roadway design, plan production and Bentley Micro Station experience are preferred.
Project Manager I:
Candidates should possess one of the following:
* College Senior status in a Bachelor's Degree program in Civil Engineering or Architecture.
Degree must be from an accredited college or university and conferred on or before agreed upon start date; if these parameters are not satisfied, any contingent offer of employment will be rescinded.
OR
* Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, or related Engineering field from an ABET accredited school. Progression to a Project Manager II will occur upon obtaining qualifications for the level II position.
Project Manager II:
Candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related engineering field and should have passed the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam (FE) and be registered as an Engineering Intern with the Missouri Board of Engineers, Architects and Land Surveyors. Progression to a Project Manager III will occur upon obtaining qualifications for the level III position.
Project Manager III:
Candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related engineering field and should be a Registered Professional Engineer by the Missouri Board of Engineers, Architects and Land Surveyors; or a Registered Professional Architect by the Missouri Board of Engineers, Architects and Land Surveyors, and five years of practical experience.
