An established engineering consulting firm in the St. Louis metro area is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join its growing team. This position offers the opportunity to take ownership of projects, build client relationships, contribute to business development efforts, and play a key role in the continued growth of the geotechnical practice.

Responsibilities
  • Develop proposals and scopes of work for geotechnical investigations
  • Maintain and expand relationships with existing and prospective clients
  • Manage geotechnical projects from initial proposal through final report delivery
  • Coordinate drilling programs and oversee subcontracted field exploration activities
  • Review subsurface data and determine appropriate laboratory testing programs
  • Performgeotechnical analyses and design, including:
    • Settlement analyses
    • Bearing capacity evaluations
    • Shallow foundation recommendations
    • Drilled pier design and calculations
    • Pavement design
    • Grading recommendations
    • Retaining wall foundation design and stability evaluations
    • Seismic reviews and design calculations
  • Review laboratory testing results and interpret findings
  • Prepare geotechnical engineering reports and recommendations
  • Assist with project management, budgeting, and invoicing
  • Collaborate with architects, structural engineers, contractors, developers, and public-sector stakeholders
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or related discipline
  • Master's degree preferred
  • PE license required or ability to quickly obtain PE licensure in both Missouri and Illinois
  • Strong experience in geotechnical consulting and engineering design
  • Experience preparing technical reports and recommendations
  • Proven client-facing communication and relationship-building skills
  • Experience managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
  • Business development experience is highly desirable
