Mechanical Estimator, Commercial Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Mechanical Estimator specializing in commercial projects to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical systems estimation, a keen understanding of project controls, and proficiency in tools such as Accubid and Bluebeam. This role is critical in ensuring accurate cost assessments and contributing to the successful delivery of commercial projects.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for mechanical systems in commercial projects.
  • Analyze project specifications, drawings, and other documentation to determine project requirements.
  • Utilize software tools such as Accubid and Bluebeam to develop and manage estimates.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment on project scope and budget.
  • Maintain and update cost databases to reflect current market trends and pricing.
  • Provide input on value engineering opportunities to optimize project costs.
  • Monitor and report on project controls to ensure adherence to budgets and timelines.
  • Assist in preparing bid proposals and supporting documentation for submission.
  • Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and client discussions as required.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Estimator, preferably in the commercial sector.
  • Proficiency in Accubid and Bluebeam software.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and piping.
  • Excellent analytical and mathematical skills with a high attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with project controls and cost management principles.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.
Day-to-Day
  • Review project plans and specifications to identify mechanical requirements.
  • Develop comprehensive cost estimates and budgets for upcoming projects.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to gather necessary information.
  • Update and maintain project controls to track progress and financial performance.
  • Attend team meetings to discuss project updates, challenges, and solutions.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to project teams during the execution phase.
  • Continuously refine estimation processes to improve accuracy and efficiency.
