Job Summary
Set up, test, and analyze test results of motors/systems to Agency specifications as well as assist with updating and fabrication of automated test equipment in an ISO 17025 Accredited Test Lab.
Job Description Responsibilities:- Perform automated and manual tests on electric motors to determine proper design and function.
- Assist with lab maintenance that includes calibrating test equipment and organizing lab stations to 6S standards.
- Prepare thermocouple wire for applications to motors (roll, strip, and weld).
- Attach thermocouple wire to motors to measure temperature.
- Unbox and check motors into the lab.
- Lift motors (up to 50 pounds) and secure them in a test fixture for testing.
- Associate's degree in Engineering, completed or in process, or 2 years related experience with electrical mechanical devices.
- Desire to learn new processes and systems.
- Ability to make spreadsheets and graphs.
- Work as a supportive team member.
- Familiarity and ability to effectively use electronic test equipment - multimeters, oscilloscopes, etc.
- Good hands-on skills such as soldering and mechanical assembly.
- Ability to collaborate with multi-functional teams.
- Good communication skills (written and verbal).
- Strong technical and problem-solving skills.
