Summary

Spire is seeking Compliance Engineer II (Integrity Management) to support implementation of the company's Distribution Integrity Management Program and provide support in meeting pipeline safety compliance standards. This position also supports identification of various gas facility replacement programs and the development of programs to comply with State and Federal pipeline safety regulations. Responsibility also includes preparation of applicable regulatory reports, including DOT annual reports, incident reports, and other records for compliance and auditing purposes.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Implement, monitor, and update the integrity management programs for pipelines and facilities (distribution, underground storage, LNG, regulator stations, odorizers, etc.).
  • Complete risk assessments and risk modeling analysis for pipelines and facilities (distribution, underground storage, LNG, regulator stations, odorizers, etc.).
  • Ensure storage facility pipeline safety compliance.
  • Prepare state and federally required reports and documentation for distribution, LNG, and UGS facilities (annual reports, incident reports, safety related condition reports, etc.).
  • Monitor incident report emails.
  • Support the direction and management of integrity related projects, such as cross-bore inspections, mechanical fitting inspections, etc.
  • Assist in coordination of PHMSA and PSC inspections, company internal audits, and other similar reviews.
  • Support the company's applicable infrastructure upgrade, replacement, and maintenance programs through prioritization modeling and recommendations. Examples include Cast Iron/Bare Steel Replacement, regulator station upgrades, fitting replacement and maintenance, etc.
  • Complete MAOP verification reviews and similar integrity reviews.
  • Complete pipeline and facility system record reviews to confirm reliable, verifiable, and complete record information.
  • Support the integrity corrosion control and public awareness programs.
  • Support operational plan and procedure updates and reviews as needed.
  • Provide support to the Safety Management Systems (SMS) implementation along with the associated programs and initiatives.
  • All other duties as assigned by Manager.
Required Education (certifications, licenses)
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, required.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Professional Engineering License, preferred.
  • Valid driver's license, required.
Required knowledge, skill and abilities
  • 2-3 years of work experience in the operations and engineering area of a regulated natural gas distribution system or related experience in another industry.
  • Familiarity with state and federal pipeline safety regulations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ESRI software applications.
  • Familiarity with the company's business systems, operating standards and replacement programs.
  • Ability to effectively manage contractor employees to accomplish objectives.
  • Also required to monitor and manage expenses related to certain projects.
Physical demands, environment and schedule
  • Normally works inside oce surroundings but will occasionally work outdoors in the eld under varying weather conditions with moderate physical exertion.
