The Usher provides direct customer-focused guest services to patrons of the facility.
Primary Responsibilities Customer Focus - 30%The Usher is primarily responsible for ensuring that guests and patrons of the Touhill are met with courteous and attentive service whether assisting in way finding, welcoming patrons to the facility, or wishing guests a good night.
The Usher is the individual utilized in fulfilling the Touhill's mission of being a welcoming place .
Pleasantly directing patrons to amenities and seating.
Handing out programs or other materials on behalf of the client to patrons.
Enforcing Touhill policies regarding proper theater decorum, seating issues, and disruptive patrons while maintaining a welcoming and friendly demeanor.
Remaining vigilant for any emergent issue (such as hazards, suspicious activity or items, or that may arise, seeking the safety and security of patrons and guests as priority.
Reporting observed issues to House Managers for resolution if warranted.
Executing public safety procedures when necessary and directed by the House Manager.
Completing University-mandated training as required.
Completing Touhill-specific training (and/or Touhill qualification(s)) as required.
As with all positions, may perform other job-related responsibilities as needed to support departmental and campus-wide needs.

Minimum QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent and some work experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary
Preferred Qualifications- Communicates professionally in both verbal and written formats.
- Ability to work long and unusual hours, including late at night.
- Willingness to work hard and take direction.
- Experience with House Management or front-of-house operations.
- An understanding of theatrical terminology, equipment, and usages.
- Good communication skills and customer service experience are recommended.
$17.50/hr
