Business Unit Controller

• Ensure the books are closed on a monthly basis timely and in accordance with GAAP.
• Take ownership of monthly accrual calculations and sales tax calculations and remittances.
• Work with corporate finance to standardize the accounting function and implement and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
• Utilize financial knowledge of the business to provide leadership with key actionable insights.
• Assist corporate FP&A team to analyze data and provide management with actionable insights.

• Degree in accounting or finance, with a preference for CPA, MBA, or CFA.
• Hands-on experience taking ownership of a full trial balance including accurate closing and ongoing analysis.
• Understanding of percentage of completion or project-based work is a plus.
• Ability to be hands-on in learning the ERP system in depth to be responsible for all aspects of the accounting system including day-to-day transactions as well as month end close on an accrual, GAAP basis of accounting.
• Willingness to travel to business unit sites as needed (approximately 1 time per quarter, more frequently at the beginning).
• Ability to work primarily on Eastern/Central time.
