Financial Analyst

It starts with our people, which is why we need a Finance Analyst to join our vibrant and collaborative team. This role will provide the opportunity to be a key advisor and first point of contact for senior stakeholders, delivering insights that assist with strategic decision‑making. The successful candidate will work closely with our Commercial Manager and Director, contributing meaningfully to our annual business planning cycle, whilst getting the opportunity to operate independently and drive initiatives beyond traditional finance.
You’ll be responsible for
Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A):- Support the annual budgeting and monthly forecasting processes for business services departments.
- Conduct variance analysis and provide commentary on actuals vs. budget/forecast.
- Partner with department heads to understand financial performance and identify cost‑saving opportunities.
- Prepare monthly management reports and commentary for business services spend.
- Develop and maintain financial models to support scenario planning and investment decisions.
- Track KPIs and operational metrics relevant to business services.
- Act as a trusted advisor to non‑finance stakeholders, translating financial data into actionable insights.
- Provide financial support for business cases, procurement decisions, and vendor negotiations.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance reporting accuracy and efficiency.
- Support the automation of reporting tools and templates.
- Ensure adherence to internal controls and financial policies.
- Assist with internal and external audits as required.
Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience in a finance analyst or management accounting role, ideally within a professional services or law firm environment.
- Strong Excel and financial modelling skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence non‑finance stakeholders.
- Experience with financial systems such as Elite 3E
- Knowledge of legal industry operations and cost structures.
- Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field preferred.
- Proactive and self‑motivated with a continuous improvement mindset.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
