In the role of Senior Accountant, you will lead major accounting initiatives and have a significant impact on our financial strategies and operations. This senior position is suited for experienced accounting professionals who have demonstrated expertise in financial management across a range of functions, including complex transactions and strategic reporting. You will mentor junior staff, oversee critical accounting projects, and provide expert advice to management.
Your work ensures that financial practices align with organizational goals and comply with regulatory standards, positioning you as a key player in shaping the financial landscape of the company.
- Perform full cycle project accounting duties including journal entries, accounts receivable, accounts payable, cash, and other transactions for various projects.
- Compile monthly and quarterly financial reports for all projects and related corporate entities.
- Assist with project budget tracking. Able to answer all budget-related questions from operations team and executive team.
- Communicate project-related issues or more complicated questions to the leadership team.
- Work with personnel across all accounting functions, including the Controller and CFO, and across the entire organization.
- Assist with process improvements and creating or updating written standard processes and training manuals.
- Attend recurring meetings for operations and accounting functions as needed.
- Assist with providing information for annual tax and audit procedures.
- Partner with offshore resources on accounting procedures.
- Crosstrain across all accounting functions to provide necessary support as well as gain knowledge and skills to grow professionally in scope of work and mentor junior staff.
- Other projects or duties as assigned or prudent.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting.
- Five or more years of related experience.
- Must have an excellent working knowledge of all project accounting and a strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
- Must be able to manage project financial data for multiple projects.
- Must be able to work independently and take the initiative to resolve project financial issues promptly.
- Proven ability to meet deadlines, manage assigned workload, and deliver accurate and timely results with a commitment to participating actively in all aspects of the process.
- Proficiency in accounting software, with past experience in Appfolio and/or Rabbet viewed as a plus. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Must be detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and strong analytical skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
