Tax Manager; SALT

Position: Tax Manager (SALT)
Kforce has a client in Saint Louis, MO that is seeking a Tax Manager (SALT) to join their team. The position requires a strong understanding of standard accounting principles, concepts, practices, and procedures, along with the ability to analyze financial data, systems, and processes to identify issues and implement effective solutions.

This role offers the opportunity to contribute to tax reporting and compliance efforts while driving process improvements and supporting the broader finance organization.

Key Responsibilities:

* Lead the corporate state income tax compliance process utilizing a leading tax compliance software platform

* Coordinate and manage state income tax audits and support the defense of tax filing positions

* Ensure accuracy and completeness of tax filings through established controls and review procedures

* Analyze and model the tax impact of acquisitions, tax law changes, and organizational structure updates

* Conduct research on state tax regulations and technical matters

* Support aspects of federal tax compliance, including estimated payments and extensions as needed

* Lead and mentor a small team of tax professionals

* Partner with senior tax leadership to review departmental goals, procedures, and process improvements
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, or related field required;
Master's preferred

* 5+ years of corporate state income tax experience

* Experience with the ONESOURCE tax suite

* Series 99 required or must obtain within 6 months

* CPA preferred
