CAAS - Controller; State & Local Government | St. Louis, MO

Role Overview

We are looking for a Controller with experience in State & Local Government Industry to join the Client Accounting & Advisory Services (CAAS) group in St. Louis, MO.

• Act as the Controller for the designated clients you service.
• Serve as a consultant and advisor to clients on best practices related to accounting and finance.
• Provide project management expertise by managing multiple clients, work, and deadlines.
• Prepare and analyze client financial statements and make recommendations.
• Foster and build opportunities for clients, communities, and people.
• Attend industry‑leading events and trainings, becoming an industry professional.
• Maintain knowledge of client’s organizational policies, federal and state policies, directives, and current accounting standards.

• 6+ years of relevant accounting and/or financial experience.
• Relevant experience in State & Local Government preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (education, training, or experience may substitute).
• CPA preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of accounting software packages.
• Strong accounting technical knowledge related to the industry.
• Ability to travel locally; occasional non‑local or overnight travel possible.
