Team OverviewThe Edward Jones Generations team provides a full‑client experience for high‑net‑worth clients, partnering with branch teams to deliver financial planning, tax, estate planning, investment implementation and ongoing reporting.
Associate Portfolio Strategists use internal resources and external partnerships to support HNW clients with complex needs.
What You Will DoThe Associate Portfolio Strategist is the investment specialist responsible for translating the client's financial plan into sound investment strategies and ensuring alignment with the client’s goals. They partner with Senior Portfolio Strategists to design and implement strategies.
Key Responsibilities- Partner with branch teams as a home‑office investment specialist to deliver the high‑quality Advice, Planning, Products, and Services (APPS).
- Provide support across the client journey, creating tailored investment advice, portfolio analysis, construction and implementation.
- Assist senior team members and clients with basic to intermediate portfolio scenarios to deliver personalized, tax‑efficient, robust advice.
- Coordinate consultations and content that meet high‑net‑worth client needs based on objectives, risk profile and preferences.
- Collaborate with WMFM or HNW internal groups to enhance workflow processes and partnership dynamics.
- Support branch team and client interactions by identifying resources for optimal results.
- Maintain awareness of industry trends, competitors and regulatory changes, assessing impact on product offerings and firm guidance.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- FINRA Series 7 and 66 licenses required within 6 months of hire.
- Intent to obtain or progress toward a CFA designation.
- 3+ years of experience in financial services; 1–2 years of portfolio management, analysis or investment consultation preferred.
- Technical aptitude, analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Subject‑matter expertise in economics, investment and portfolio management strategies.
- Skills in systems thinking, planning, relationship building, collaboration, and project management.
- Clear written, verbal and presentation communication skills.
- Additional Series 7, 66, 24 licenses.
- Progress toward or possession of a CFA.
- Master’s degree.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, databases and wealth‑management software (Aladdin Wealth, Morningstar, Fact Set).
- Proficiency with data‑visualization tools such as Tableau or PowerBI.
Candidates that live within a commutable distance from our Tempe, AZ and St. Louis, MO home‑office locations are expected to work in the office four days per week.
