The Accounting Specialist will be responsible for the daily management of Access Corrections bank accounts.
Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities- Access, download, and format daily US Bank reports, cash box history (kiosk), and the automated email report.
- Reconcile over 300 kiosks, match bank statements to kiosk records.
- Investigate and resolve any discrepancies between bank and kiosk records.
- Reconcile the kiosk details to the bank payments in Excel.
- Monitor returned checks and money orders, alert appropriate individuals as needed.
- Process mail for Secure Deposit:
Confirm invoice is not already paid, confirm all checks are signed and match invoice totals, then total the batch. Enter the payment information into Oracle, write up deposit slip and take to US Bank. Send letters and returned checks if not signed, duplicate payment, etc. - Track and update claims log with items that are discrepant due to armored car services.
- Update and respond to emailed questions from Armored Car companies.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’S degree (B.A.) from a four‑year college or university in Accounting or Finance; or one to two years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of two years experience in high‑volume transaction reconciliations.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with demonstrated success in researching and resolving cash/credit exceptions.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Solid organizational abilities to manage multiple tasks, priorities, and deadlines.
