Nooter/Eriksen Inc. invites you to join our Finance team as a Jr. Accountant in Fenton, MO, in a hybrid role.
DAY IN THE LIFEThe Jr. Accountant will support project finance operations during high-volume periods and manage shifting priorities across accounting and project teams.
Responsibilities include:
- Develop an understanding of project financial processes, reporting requirements, internal controls, and accounting functions through cross‑training and participation in project finance activities.
- Assist Project Financial Analysts with accounts payable processing, customer invoicing, project financial reporting, analysis, and related finance and accounting activities.
- Perform account reconciliations and support month‑end close activities, including journal entries and account analysis.
- Assist with payment processing activities, including checks, ACH, and wire transfers, in accordance with established procedures and internal controls.
- Participate in initiatives that support improvements in financial reporting, accounting processes, and operational efficiency.
Work Experience
- 1‑3 years of accounting, finance, or related business experience.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in business or finance; equivalent experience will be considered.
Required Knowledge
- Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Understanding of project financial processes, reporting requirements, and internal controls
- Fiscal, statutory, and regulatory requirements
- Familiarity with international business operations, including contracts, reporting, and statutory compliance requirements
- Financial reporting and analysis
- Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes and controls
- Sales tax, VAT, and indirect tax compliance concepts
- Month‑end close procedures and account reconciliations
- Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or similar ERP/accounting systems
