VP of Finance

Kforce's client, a growing, well-established organization located in the Saint Louis, MO area, is seeking a VP of Finance to lead financial operations across complex, project-based environments. This role will partner closely with executive leadership to drive profitability, strengthen controls, and support strategic growth initiatives. Key Responsibilities:

* VP of Finance will oversee end-to-end project accounting lifecycle (contract review through closeout)

* Manage payroll (multi-state, union/non-union), AP/AR, and collections

* Lead monthly close, job costing accuracy, and WIP reporting

* Own percentage-of-completion accounting and forecasting

* Analyze margins, cost overruns, and labor productivity trends

* Partner with operations to improve financial performance by project

* Drive cash flow forecasting, working capital, and banking relationships

* Optimize billing cycles, retainage recovery, and payables timing

* As VP of Finance, you will build and lead a high-performing project accounting team

* Enhance ERP systems, controls, and reporting processes

* Establish KPIs, accountability, and scalable infrastructure

* Support expansion, financial modeling, and investment analysis

* Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership
* 10-15+ years of accounting/finance experience

* 5+ years of construction industry experience

* Construction industry experience strongly preferred

* Expertise in WIP, job costing, and revenue recognition

* Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
