Job Overview

The Senior Asset Manager is responsible for managing a portfolio of specialty real‑estate financing transactions and mentoring junior Asset Managers. The Senior Asset Manager monitors portfolio performance, ensures compliance with statutory requirements, and supports limited travel.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate capital calls, capital installments, and loan disbursements
  • Identify changes in asset performance from underwriting expectations
  • Communicate with real estate developers, investors, and professional services firms
  • Facilitate the delivery of investment benefits
  • Manage timely collection of required portfolio reporting requirements and deliverables
  • Analyze transaction legal documents
  • Prepare Monthly Portfolio Reviews for discussion with Asset Management leadership
  • Review the accuracy of newly onboarded transactions and spearhead corrections as needed
  • Lead/manage challenging, complex deals and deal modifications successfully
  • Understand the risks associated with deals and communicate those risks to management in a clear, concise manner
  • Resolve issues independently with succinct summaries provided as needed
  • Serve as a subject‑matter expert and primary point of contact for one or more Twain products/investments (e.g., PACE, Ground Lease Capital, HTC, Renewables, etc.)
  • Bring new ideas to help the department operate more efficiently, working through details to execute on those approved by Leadership
  • Mentor less experienced Team Members
  • Review borrower draw requests and facilitate disbursements as approved by Leadership
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • B.S./B.A. degree or higher
  • 3–5 years of direct experience asset‑managing one or more of these investment types
  • Experience in real estate operations or investment
  • Highly effective communication skills, business acumen, attention to detail, curious mindset, and independent thinker who works collaboratively with other teams while exhibiting a positive attitude and growth mindset
  • Preferred knowledge of tax credit or incentive programs
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Well‑developed analytical and problem‑solving skills
  • Experience in legal document review and negotiation
  • Understanding of basic accounting principles
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite and Copilot
  • Highly motivated, able to multi‑task, and driven by a fast‑paced environment
