Treasury Manager

Description

Our client is seeking a hands-on Interim Treasury Manager to lead treasury and cash management operations during a critical transition period. This consultant will oversee daily cash management activities, banking relationships, liquidity monitoring, reconciliations, payment processing, and treasury-related month-end close activities across a North American retail footprint of more than 350 locations.

The ideal candidate will bring strong treasury, banking, and accounting expertise, along with a continuous improvement mindset and the ability to quickly assess processes, strengthen controls, and drive operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Treasury & Cash Management

+ Oversee daily cash management activities for 350+ retail locations across North America.

+ Manage cash matching and reconciliation activities utilizing Black Line and ensure timely resolution of discrepancies.

+ Monitor daily cash positions and support short-term liquidity and working capital management.

+ Lead investigations of cash variances, shortages, and unidentified transactions.

+ Partner with Accounting and Store Operations teams to ensure cash activity is accurately recorded and reconciled.

Financial Reporting & Month-End Close

+ Review and approve month-end cash shortage and cash-in-transit journal entries.

+ Ensure treasury-related transactions are accurately recorded within Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365).

+ Oversee bank reconciliations and ensure all reconciling items are researched and resolved timely.

+ Support month-end close activities and provide treasury reporting as required.

Banking & Vendor Management

+ Manage relationships with banking partners, armored carriers, and merchant service providers.

+ Support new store openings by coordinating:

+ Merchant services setup

+ Cash collection services

+ Bank account establishment

+ Opening cash float funding

+ Review banking and cash collection service invoices for accuracy and resolve discrepancies.

Payments & Treasury Operations

+ Oversee North American Accounts Payable payment runs.

+ Ensure supplier payments, ACH transactions, wire transfers, and direct debits are processed accurately and timely.

+ Administer and oversee the corporate credit card program.

+ Review payment controls and recommend enhancements to reduce risk and improve efficiency.

Leadership & Process Improvement

+ Serve as the treasury subject matter expert and business partner to Finance, Accounting, Accounts Payable, and Operations leaders.

+ Evaluate current treasury processes and identify opportunities for automation, efficiency, and stronger internal controls.

+ Provide leadership, accountability, and guidance to treasury and cash management functions.

+ Document processes and assist in knowledge transfer as needed.
