Nidec is the world’s No.1 comprehensive motor and drive manufacturer. The Sr. Finance Analyst will be located in St. Louis, MO and serve as a strategic finance leader responsible for driving financial planning, forecasting, performance analysis, and decision support across the Automation business.
Job DescriptionThe Sr. Finance Analyst will play a critical part in enabling profitable growth by improving forecast accuracy, optimizing margins, and providing clear financial insights to operational and executive leadership. This role assists in the annual budget and ongoing forecast processes, partners closely with cross‑functional leaders to evaluate business performance, and delivers actionable analysis that supports pricing, cost management, capital investment, and strategic initiatives.
Responsibilities- Lead annual budgeting process, monthly forecasting, and strategic financial planning.
- Develop and maintain financial models to support data‑driven decision making.
- Coordinate inputs across departments and ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Analyze monthly results, identify key variances, and communicate drivers to leadership.
- Develop dashboards and management reporting packages.
- Serve as financial function partner to various business and functional leaders.
- Challenge assumptions and provide independent financial perspective.
- Prepare presentations for functional and executive leaders, translating complex data into digestible content.
- Improve FP&A tools and reporting using ERP and BI tools.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field.
- 10+ years of finance, costing or accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial capacity.
- Experience in leading a forecast process, forecast consolidation, and implementing supporting tools.
- Target and budget setting experience in a leadership capacity.
- International and global multi‑site experience in an M&A or business integration environment.
- Strong accounting experience within a manufacturing company.
- Hands‑on experience with ERP (Oracle and SAP Business Financial Consolidator) in a manufacturing or multi‑site environment.
- People‑management experience.
- Experience using ERP in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in large companies (sales above $5billion).
- Travel: limited, approximately 5–10% of the time.
