The Standard Channel Underwriter role

The Standard Channel Underwriter role is responsible for credit underwriting and monitoring for new and existing clients in partnership with the client team. Key responsibilities include managing transactions in a high‑volume national queue of Business Banking clients, completing and reviewing credit analysis, evaluating risks, and writing financial analysis. Products include lines of credit, term loans, and real estate loans. This job includes responsibilities for structuring, negotiating, documenting credit analysis, independently assessing historic and projected borrower financial information, evaluating adherence to policy and procedure, providing loan structure analysis and recommendations, and monitoring portfolio performance.

Responsibilities
  • Supports both underwriting and monitoring in a high-volume national workflow queue
  • Independently works with Relationship Managers and Solutions Advisors to understand structuring needs and requirements
  • Delivers financial modeling, loan structure, industry, economic, and other analyses to team members to support the loan decision-making process
  • Underwriters have single signature authority for certain credit transaction

Required Qualifications
  • 2+ years of solid Commercial Banking experience
  • Experience in financial analysis, structuring, and underwriting
  • Analytical/technical skills, including financial accounting, modeling and loan structuring
  • Strong communication skills; ability to communicate vertically, horizontally, and externally
  • Industry knowledge across multiple sectors
Minimum Education Requirement

High School Diploma / GED / Secondary School or equivalent
