Team OverviewEdward Jones Trust Company provides a full range of trust, investment management, and custody services to individuals, businesses, charitable organizations, and private foundations. Teams are responsible for new account onboarding and due diligence, account opening, branch training and education, business development, and the development and maintenance of marketing collateral and resources. The team also has accountability for enhancing and delivering the client experience in partnership and collaboration with Financial Advisors and branch teams, internal stakeholders, and external professionals including attorneys and CPAs.
WhatYou Will Do
The Estate Settlement Trust Officer is responsible for the administration of trusts, estates and investment management accounts and serves as the primary relationship manager for these accounts.
As an Estate Settlement Trust Officer, your responsibilities will include:
- Daily management of probate and estate settlement trust administration in accordance with Edward Jones Trust Company guidelines, fiduciary standards, trust agreements, wills, powers of attorney and all contracts relating to the account relationship.
- Onboarding and closing of accounts; including asset identification, asset gathering and analysis in a high-volume environment.
- Developing, strengthening, and retaining client, beneficiary, client team relationships.
- Reviewing, understanding, and interpreting trust agreements, wills, contracts and other estate planning documents to limit regulatory and legal risk.
- Partnering with financial advisors to fully understand clients' needs and deliver an excellent client experience.
- Discussing and explaining complex tax and estate planning concepts and trust terms with beneficiaries and financial advisors.
- Serving on Trust Company committees, participating in business planning or other initiatives as requested.
- Working with internal resources to manage special assets and real estate, including the inventory, appraisal and sale or transfer thereof.
- Understanding and balancing the needs of grantors, current beneficiaries and future beneficiaries and effectively communicating this analysis to grantors, beneficiaries, and branch teams;
- Managing client service with other Trust Company and operations associates, branch teams, attorneys, CPAs and outside business professionals;
- Researching various laws including statutory requirements, probate rules, and court requirements and applying knowledge of these laws to unique circumstances.
- Formulating plans for the execution of estate plans, using tax planning analysis and wealth transfer strategies.

- Bachelor's degree required or equivalent training, certification or work experience.
- 3 years+ trust and estate administration, or related legal or financial services experience required.
- Knowledge of trust administration principles, estate planning principles, taxes, and investment principles required.
- Strong written and verbal communication (especially in complex matters) and demonstrate high level of interpersonal skills.
- Ability to effectively train, delegate and follow up with others who provide service to the client and branch team
- Demonstrated advanced organization skills are essential.
