The LIHTC Analyst is a detail-oriented member of the lending team within M1 Specialty Finance at The Bank of Missouri. This role participates in the loan origination lifecycle, with primary responsibility for underwriting Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) construction and equity financing transactions. The position requires extensive data analysis and compilation, strong attention to detail, and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.
Prior experience with LIHTC financing is required.
The LIHTC Analyst plays a critical role in evaluating new loan opportunities, monitoring the performance and risk of individual loans, and supporting oversight of the broader LIHTC portfolio. This role works closely with senior LIHTC loan officers and underwriters and contributes to the preparation and presentation of underwriting analysis and recommendations to the Loan Committee.
As part of M1 Specialty Finance, the position supports lending activities across specialized portfolio segments including LIHTC affordable housing construction and equity financing, renewable energy (ITC) construction and permanent financing, and commercial real estate construction. The LIHTC Analyst reports to the SVP, LIHTC Lending Lead and operates under the broader leadership of the Chief Specialty Finance Officer.
As a LIHTC Underwriter you will:- LIHTC loan underwriting for credit quality through the review of financial statements, business plans, public information databases, and background searches
- Assist loan officers with large loan relationships, with many LIHTC project loans per relationship. Be the liaison between the client and the bank.
- Communicate with the Chief Specialty Finance Officer and committee’s goals and parameters effectively to the loan relationship.
- Communicate the client’s goals and requests effectively to the Chief Specialty Finance Officer, Specialty Finance Credit Risk Officer, and loan committee.
