Incumbents in this position are responsible for coordinating Airport-wide emergency response planning and implementation. This person serves in the Airport Emergency Operations Center (EOC) and reports to the EOC Manager. Duties include preparing Airport emergency plan drills, tabletops and functional exercises; providing emergency training with mutual aid and Airport partners; and assisting, tracking and investigating Safety Management System (SMS) issues.

• Prepares, updates, and designs the Airport’s FAA required Emergency operations Plan (AEP).
• Handles the Emergency Log paperwork and ICSPD paperwork.
• Develops and recommends new and revised statutes, rules, policies, and procedures to respond to changes in operational/program needs, objectives, and priorities and to improve the effectiveness of managed operations/programs.
• Designs, writes, and conducts Airport Tabletops, Functional Exercises, and Full-Scale Emergency drills for the airport and departments.
• Uses Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation principles to analyze airport exercises, note deficiencies, and recommend improvements and corrections to management.
• Assists the Airport Security Manager with designing, running, and evaluating TSA required Airport Security Tabletops.
• Coordinates Emergency Response obligations of Airport departments responsible for the Airport Emergency Plan.
• Builds relationships, procedures, and agreements with mutual aid partners and regional partners to enhance emergency response capability.
• Recruits businesses, organizations, volunteers to participate in the Airport’s Emergency Drills to enhance readiness and emergency response capabilities.
• Coordinates emergency training made available through the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), etc.
• Assists with required emergency class training when needed.
• Assists and investigates SMS related issues when needed.
• Utilizes the knowledge obtained from National Incident Management System (NIMS), Incident Command System (ICS) Training (ICS 100, 200, and 700).
• Responds to emergencies to ensure EOC / Mobile Command bus is functional and coordinates corrective action when needed.
• Participates in Snow Call and other emergency operations.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
