** The Peer Specialist/Recovery Coach emphasizes the development and expansion of recovery skills that support individuals in fully engaging in their treatment and long-term wellness. Through individual and group services, you will model recovery, facilitate peer support, assist with treatment planning, connect individuals to community resources, and help clients build independence and confidence. Interventions are grounded in the therapeutic relationship between the Peer Specialist, the individual served, and their family unit.

* Key Responsibilities:

* · Share lived recovery experience to inspire hope, model resilience, and support individuals in achieving personal recovery goals  
· Facilitate individual and group peer support services with a rehabilitation and recovery focus  
· Assist individuals in developing and progressing toward goals outlined in their individualized treatment or recovery plans  
· Help individuals identify strengths, personal resources, and natural supports within their community  
· Connect clients to recovery resources, including mutual aid and community-based support groups  
· Participate in treatment team meetings and staffing to ensure continuity of care  
· Communicate with referral sources and guardians regarding progress and transition planning as appropriate  
· Provide crisis intervention and emotional support as needed  
· Assist with scheduling services, arranging transportation, and coordinating referrals for additional services  
· Document all services in accordance with state regulations and CARF standards  
· Maintain professional representation of the agency and adhere to program philosophy  
· Complete ongoing training and professional development requirements
** Education, Experience, and/or Credential

Qualifications:

*
* · Self-identify as a present or former recipient of mental health or substance use services OR as a person in recovery from a mental health or substance use disorder  
· High school diploma or equivalent  
· Completion of a state-approved Peer Specialist training program and, if required, successful completion of a standardized examination  
· Missouri Only – Complete required application and certification processes, including any required 5-Day Basic Training Program and state certification examination within required time frames  
· Basic knowledge of case management and rehabilitation principles related to mental health and substance use disorder treatment  
· Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing  
· Ability to maintain healthy professional boundaries while sharing lived experience

* · Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age  
· Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record  
· Current auto insurance  
· Successful completion of background check including criminal record, driving record, abuse/neglect, and fingerprint check  
· First Aid certification within three (3) months of beginning employment and upon renewal date  
· Obtain CPR certification within three (3) months of beginning employment and upon renewal date  
· Complete Behavioral Management training within thirty (30) days of employment or first available class after start date
