Overview
American Medical Response (AMR) Military EMT Academy is not an open job role; it is a requisition designed to build a pipeline of individuals interested in future EMT classes through GMR’s Military EMT Academy.
AMR offers a unique opportunity for individuals interested in a rewarding career in pre‑hospital medicine.
About the ProgramThe EMT Academy is a rigorous 8–12 week program offered throughout the year, which qualifies the employee to take the NREMT exam. There is no cost for the class, and all books, tuition, fees and uniforms will be paid by AMR. Upon successful completion of the class, all tests and state certification, the employee will be supported in their application for an EMT position at AMR.
Eligibility- Be at least 18 years old
- Have proof of a HS diploma or GED
- Valid Driver’s License
- Have all required immunizations
- Successfully complete the pre‑employment screening which includes motor vehicle and criminal background checks, drug testing and a physical agility test
- Be an Active‑Duty Service Member within 180 days of EAS with command approval
- Eligible to take a written and skills test offered by the Department of Health
- Upon receipt of the state EMT‑B certification, employees will be eligible to apply for a position with GMR
