Position: Patient Billing/Services Representative II (Float) - Otolaryngology
Location: St. Louis

* Responsible for working on pre-arrival alerts. (i.e., insurance, referrals, etc.).
* Updates and verifies patient insurance, billing and demographic information in EPIC for reimbursement for the patient visit. Checks eligibility either electronically or manually as needed.
* Collects fee for service (copay, deductible, self-pay, cosmetic services, consults and surgery pre-pays and past balances etc.) and records in EPIC.
* Checks patient in through EPIC and updates, demographics, insurance, patient portal access and verifies pharmacy information; verifies referrals received, scanned and linked to appointment.
* Schedules return patient appointments, patient testing and procedures.
* Maintains familiarity with insurance companies and their reimbursement policies.
* Balances cash drawer daily.
* Answer incoming department telephone line.
* Checks patient out and prints After Visit Summaries (AVS) for patient.
* Basic Life Support certification must be obtained within one month of hire date.
* Basic Life Support certification (Online BLS certifications, those without a skills assessment component, are not sufficient to meet the BLS requirements).
* Up to 22 days of vacation, 10 recognized holidays, and sick time.
