Job Description
American Traveler is hiring a Travel MRI Technologist with 2+ years of experience, including pediatric radiology/imaging, for a 16-week day shift contract in Saint Louis, MO.
Responsibilities- Works in an Interventional Radiology department, also serving ER and outpatient populations
- Patient population includes all types, including vented patients and anesthesia cases
- Equipment includes GE 1.5T and GE 3T MRI scanners; PACS system is Visage
- EMR is Epic
- 3x12-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- Rotating call required, potentially 2–3 days per week including weekends
- No float requirements
- 16-week contract in Saint Louis, MO
- Performs specialized MRI procedures resulting in diagnostic images for interpretation by a radiologist, while applying MR safety principles and providing essential patient care
- Works within a Level 2 Trauma Center — the only one in the South County area — which also holds Joint Commission Comprehensive Stroke Center and Level 1 STEMI Center designations
- Orientation is conducted on day shift; traveler must be available the entire week for orientation
- Black scrubs (top, bottoms, and jacket) required
- Flu vaccination or Mercy-approved exemption is required from November 1 – April 1; declinations are not accepted
- Up to 5 days of RTO is allowed but must be made up during the assignment
- Candidates living within 50 miles of the facility are eligible but will be subject to a reduced bill rate
- Local candidates within 50 miles are limited to 3 consecutive 13-week contracts; after completion, a 1-year separation or transfer to a facility outside the 50-mile radius is required
- Minimum 2 years of MRI technologist experience required
- Pediatric radiology/imaging experience required
- ARRT certification required; MRI Registry preferred
- BLS and R.R.A. certification required
- Completion of an accredited Radiography program required
- GE 1.5T and 3T experience preferred
- Must have excellent communication and patient care skills
- Physical requirements include pushing/pulling up to 46 lbs, carrying up to 25 lbs, gripping up to 50 lbs, and occasional reaching and bending
- Valid U.S. Social Security Number required
- License required if applicable
- No gaps in employment of 90+ days within the past 12 months
