Part‑Time Direct Support Professional (DSP)
St. Louis Arc is dedicated to empowering people with developmental and intellectual disabilities to live their best lives. As a DSP you will support participants in group homes throughout the St. Louis area, providing care, skill development, and advocacy.

20+ group homes throughout St. Louis Area
•
Hours:
Part‑time (schedules vary by home)
• Compensation: $22 per hour (subject to statutory minimums)
• Benefits: health insurance, retirement, paid time off, student‑loan repayment assistance for full‑time staff
- Assist four to six adult participants with daily living skills such as hygiene, meal preparation, dressing, and maintaining a clean environment.
- Provide general safety oversight according to agency policy and Individualized Support Plans.
- Support participants’ social and emotional well‑being, planning outings and internal activities.
- Collaborate with the nursing team to implement nursing plans, including medication administration, physical support, and dietary needs.
- Maintain an understanding of all participants’ plans and implement appropriate practices.
- Transport participants to and from activities and appointments.
- Complete required documentation within agency and funding deadlines.
- Voice and autonomy to improve your job performance and serve others better.

- Student‑loan repayment assistance (eligible staff may receive up to $250 per month).
- At least 1 year of experience in customer service, education, medical, or human services—preferably supporting individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Reliable vehicle (4 seat belts, working heating/cooling) and valid driver’s license; auto insurance required at time of hire.
- Solid judgment, organization, and problem‑solving skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and make critical decisions in emergencies.
- Basic computer knowledge and ability to navigate database software.
