Additional Information About the Role
We are hiring for a Sterile Processing Tech - Lead for the Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital. As a lead tech, you will be responsible for ensuring all our surgical cases have the correct instrumentation for every case as well as ensuring that same day turn-overs are completed on time. Our ideal candidate will be a Certified Registered Central Services Technician (CRCST).
- Monday-Friday 2:00 p.m.
- 10:30 p.m. - Evening Shift
- Must be Certified
Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital offers highly specialized surgical and medical services in an intimate environment and is known for outstanding patient care. Barnes-Jewish West County Central Sterile Processing Department provides a service that is integral part of the quality of care that we provide for our patients. We ensure the integrity and sterility of our products and services for our customers. We control all parts of the sterilization process: decontamination, prep & pack, documentation of sterilization records, and sterile storage.
Preferred QualificationsRole Purpose
Assists the supervisor in providing quality, cost-effective decontamination, sterilization, and distribution services. Trains and directs CSPD staff, problem solves equipment failures and functions as a charge person in the absence of the Supervisor.
Responsibilities- Assembles and processes instrument sets, trays, supplies and linen; prioritizes trays and tasks according to the surgery schedule.
- Utilizes and troubleshoots steam sterilizers.
- Serves as the primary coordinator between surgical services and central supply sterile processing department in assigned clinical service area.
- Provides training and guidance to staff.

- High School Diploma or GED
