PositionSummary
We are seeking a Director of People Operations to lead the full employee lifecycle across our multi-entity organization. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, this role is both strategic and hands‑on, serving as a trusted partner to the Executive Leadership Team while overseeing day-to-day people operations. This is a high‑impact role responsible for building systems, elevating standards, and shaping the employee experience as we continue to grow.
Key Responsibilities People Operations & Compliance- Own and manage all HR operations across multiple entities and states
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws
- Oversee payroll processing in partnership with Corporate Accounting
- Manage workers’ compensation, leaves of absence, and risk‑related matters
- Serve as primary point of contact for employee relations issues and investigations
- Administer compensation programs, merit cycles, and benchmarking
- Evaluate and enhance benefits offerings
- Support workforce planning and headcount budgeting in collaboration with Corporate Accounting
- Lead and execute recruiting strategy, building scalable processes that center on the candidate experience
- Strengthen onboarding and offboarding processes
- Manage training, development, and compliance‑related learning initiatives
- Maintain accurate HRIS data, employee files, and reporting
- Support employee engagement surveys and follow‑up actions
- Partner with leaders on recognition, culture, and engagement initiatives
- Own employee communications related to policies, programs, and organizational updates
- Act as a trusted, practical resource for employees and leaders
- Partner closely with the COO and CFO on people‑related priorities
- Collaborate with third‑party IT provider on systems that support the employee experience
- Evaluate and improve HR processes, tools, and vendors
- Build scalable practices that support growth without unnecessary complexity
- 7–12+ years progressive HR experience in a multi‑state environment
- Strong working knowledge of payroll, benefits, compliance, and employee relations
- Comfortable operating on a lean team, fast‑paced team
- Demonstrated ability to partner with senior leadership
- Experience leading or upgrading HR processes in growing organizations
- Ability to balance employee advocacy with business needs
