Job Description

Infosys is seeking an EDB Postgre

SQL DBA. This position’s primary responsibility will be to provide technical expertise and coordinate day-to-day deliverables for the team. The chosen candidate will assist in the technical design of large business systems; build applications, interfaces between applications, understand data security, retention, and recovery. The role holder should be able to research technologies independently to recommend appropriate solutions and should contribute to technology-specific best practices and standards;

contribute to success criteria from design through deployment, including reliability, cost-effectiveness, performance, data integrity, maintainability and scalability; provide expertise on significant application components, program languages, databases, operating systems, etc., and guide/mentor the team during the build and test phases.

Coordinate day-to-day deliverables for the team; assist in technical design of large business systems; build applications and interfaces between applications; ensure data security, retention, and recovery; research technologies independently to recommend solutions; contribute to best practices and standards; support deployment with focus on reliability, cost-effectiveness, performance, data integrity, maintainability and scalability; provide expertise on components, programming languages, databases and operating systems;

guide and mentor the team during build and test phases.

• Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent required from an accredited institution. Will also consider three years of progressive experience in the specialty in lieu of every year of education.
• At least 4 years of Information Technology experience
• Located within commuting distance of St Louis, Missouri or willing to relocate; travel to project locations may be required

• Experience in Postgre
  
  SQL; experience in Oracle Linux Enterprise

• Experience in the design, maintenance, and administration of EDB Postgres, Postgres Distributed and AWS RDS
• Deep understanding of EDB Postgres architecture and internals
• Proficient in Postgre
  
  SQL installation and configuration, especially Postgre
  
  SQL Plus Advanced Server and Postgres Distributed from EnterpriseDB
• Skilled in Postgre
  
  SQL monitoring and alerting tools; familiarity with observability tools like Splunk and Dynatrace is a plus
• Experience in setting up, configuring, and monitoring Postgre
  
  SQL binary and logical replication (e.g., Binary Streaming, Bi-Directional Replication - BDR)
• Proficient in Linux, especially Oracle Linux Enterprise
• Familiarity with scripting languages such as Bash, KSH, and Perl
