Description:

Gridiron IT is looking to hire a Network Operations Center Cloud Engineer to support a government program in St. Louis, MO.

Role Overview :
The Cloud Engineer for SOC Infrastructure plays a critical role in the design, implementation, and maintenance of cloud-based environments hosting security and networking monitoring and alerting tools used in the Security Operations Center (SOC). This position is responsible for ensuring the reliability, scalability, and security of the cloud infrastructure supporting critical SOC operations. The Cloud Engineer works closely with the SOC team, security analysts, and other IT professionals to create a robust and efficient cloud-based monitoring and alerting ecosystem.

This Cloud Engineer role is crucial for ensuring that the SOC has a robust, secure, and efficient cloud infrastructure to support its critical monitoring and alerting functions. The position requires a blend of cloud expertise, security knowledge, and the ability to work collaboratively within a dynamic SOC environment.

Key Responsibilities:

- Design and implement cloud architectures to host SOC tools, including SIEM, SOAR, and other security and networking monitoring solutions - Ensure high availability, fault tolerance, and disaster recovery capabilities for critical SOC systems - Implement security best practices and controls within the cloud environment - Deploy and configure security and networking monitoring tools in cloud environments - Integrate various SOC tools to create a cohesive and efficient monitoring ecosystem - Ensure proper data flow and communication between different components of the SOC infrastructure - Monitor and optimize the performance of cloud-hosted SOC tools - Implement auto-scaling and load balancing solutions to handle varying workloads - Tune cloud resources for cost-effectiveness without compromising performance - Implement and maintain security controls for the cloud infrastructure - Ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, PCI DSS) - Conduct and/or support security assessments and vulnerability scans of the cloud environment - Provide technical support during security incidents related to cloud infrastructure - Assist in the development and testing of disaster recovery and business continuity plans - Conduct regular capacity planning exercises to ensure the infrastructure can handle growing data volumes and user demands - Implement and manage data retention policies in alignment with organizational and compliance requirements - Maintain comprehensive documentation of cloud architectures, configurations, and processes - Develop and maintain runbooks for common operations and troubleshooting procedures - Provide training and support to SOC team members on cloud-related topics - Liaise with cloud service providers and tool vendors - Participate in cross-functional projects related to SOC operations and security improvements - Provide technical expertise and support for SOC-related initiatives Requirements:

Salary Range: $70-80 hourly (Compensation is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, work experience, skills, education, certifications, seniority, and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.) Benefits:
