Job Summary
We’re looking for a motivated Cybersecurity Intern to join our security team and support efforts to protect the organization’s systems, data, and users. This role is ideal for students or early‑career professionals who are passionate about security, eager to learn, and ready to gain hands‑on experience in a fast‑moving environment.
You will work alongside cybersecurity analysts, SOC analysts, and IT teams to help monitor threats, investigate security events, and strengthen our overall security posture.
Job Description Security Monitoring & Incident Support- Assist in monitoring security alerts, logs, and dashboards
- Support triage of potential security incidents
- Help document incidents and remediation steps
- Participate in threat‑hunting activities under supervision
- Develop or revise standard operating procedures
- Conduct vulnerability scans and review findings
- Assist with patch verification and remediation tracking
- Support risk assessments for systems, vendors, or applications
- Learn and use tools such as SIEM platforms, endpoint protection, and identity management systems
- Help maintain asset inventories and security configurations
- Perform baseline and system hardening activities
- Support user access reviews and identity governance tasks
- Assist in updating security policies, standards, and procedures
- Help prepare materials for audits or compliance reviews
- Contribute to cybersecurity awareness campaigns and training content
- Participate in team meetings and cross‑departmental projects
- Conduct research on emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and best practices
- Document processes, findings, and recommendations
Required:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
- Basic understanding of networking, operating systems, and security concepts
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
- Ability to handle sensitive information responsibly
- Curiosity, willingness to learn, and a proactive mindset
Preferred:
- Familiarity with SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, Microsoft Sentinel)
- Exposure to vulnerability scanners (e.g., Nessus, Qualys)
- Basic scripting knowledge (Python, Power Shell, Bash)
- Understanding of common frameworks (NIST CSF, ISO 27001, CIS Controls)
- Real‑world incident response workflows
- How enterprise security tools operate
- Best practices for securing networks, endpoints, and cloud environments
- How cybersecurity teams collaborate with IT, compliance, and engineering
- Practical experience building toward roles like Security Analyst or SOC Analyst
- Collaborative team environment with mentorship
- Exposure to real security operations
- Opportunities to contribute to meaningful projects
