Data Modeler

We are seeking an Application Data Modeler to design and optimize data structures supporting interactive software applications and OLTP systems. This role requires strong expertise in database design, data modeling, and governance, with hands‑on experience across multiple relational database platforms. The ideal candidate will bridge technical design with business needs, ensuring scalable, compliant, and well‑documented data solutions.

• Design and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models for OLTP systems.
• Develop and optimize relational database schemas with proper normalization (up to 3NF).
• Collaborate with application teams to ensure models align with interactive software requirements.
• Implement and enforce data governance standards across platforms.
• Utilize data catalog tools (Alation, Collibra, or comparable) to manage metadata and ensure data accessibility.
• Generate and validate SQL scripts from modeling tools to support schema creation and updates.
• Partner with cross‑functional teams to ensure consistency, compliance, and scalability of data solutions.

• Interactive software applications and OLTP systems experience.
• Database design and data modeling (conceptual, logical, physical).
• Relational databases:
  Postgre
  
  SQL (primary), with exposure to MySQL and Oracle for cross‑platform understanding.
• Normalization up to 3NF and schema optimization.
• SQL scripting:
  Strong understanding of SQL dialects; not required to be a Postgre
  
  SQL expert but must grasp differences across platforms.
• Modeling tools:
  Proficiency with DB Schema (preferred), Irwin, ER Studio, or cloud‑based modeling solutions.

• Experience with metadata management and data catalog platforms.
• Hands‑on experience with Alation (preferred) or comparable tools such as Collibra.
• Strong grasp of data catalog principles beyond tool usage.

• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to translate complex technical requirements into clear, actionable designs.
• Detail‑oriented with a focus on compliance and governance.
