Dev Ops Engineer II

Adaptive Solutions Group is a premier provider of information technology personnel. We provide a variety of technical professionals available for contract, contract-to-hire, or direct placement positions to companies throughout the Midwest.

We are currently looking for a Dev Ops Engineer II to join our team.

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, implement, and maintain Dev Ops tools, processes, and infrastructure that support software development and deployment initiatives.
  • Collaborate with engineers, architects, and technical leadership to recommend and implement scalable solutions.
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Git Hub Actions and related automation technologies.
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts using languages such as Python, Groovy, Bash, or Shell.
  • Support cloud-based infrastructure and deployment processes within AWS or similar cloud environments.
  • Create and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform and related technologies.
  • Monitor deployment pipelines, troubleshoot issues, review logs, and resolve CI/CD-related challenges.
  • Support API-driven environments, including integrations with development, testing, monitoring, and service management platforms.
  • Implement and support high-availability deployment strategies, including failover, blue/green deployments, and resiliency solutions.
  • Conduct unit and integration testing to ensure applications meet technical and business requirements.
  • Analyze existing systems and processes, identify improvement opportunities, and recommend solutions that improve efficiency and reliability.
  • Participate in Agile development activities and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
  • Collaborate effectively in a remote team environment while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Ensure security best practices are incorporated into development, deployment, and operational processes.
Required Qualifications
  • 3+ years of Dev Ops engineering or related experience.
  • 2+ years of cloud automation experience.
  • Experience with AWS or comparable cloud platforms.
  • Experience building and supporting CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience with Git Hub, Git Hub Actions, Maven, Gradle, or similar development tools.
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, Shell, or Groovy.
  • Working knowledge of object-oriented programming concepts and languages such as Java.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Chef, Puppet, or similar technologies.
  • Experience working with serverless technologies such as AWS Lambda.
  • Experience with API gateways and API integration technologies.
  • Understanding of software development methodologies, architecture, design patterns, and SDLC processes.
  • Experience querying and managing data using SQL.
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and root-cause analysis skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working in Agile environments utilizing tools such as Jira and Confluence.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote environment.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and business requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Experience with cloud-native application development and deployment tools.
  • Familiarity with AWS SAM or similar cloud deployment frameworks.
  • Exposure to enterprise data platforms and data warehousing concepts.
  • Experience with modern application frameworks and cloud-based architectures.
  • Experience supporting large-scale enterprise environments.
  • Knowledge of Atlassian tools and IT service management platforms.
  • Understanding of reusable code principles and clean coding practices.
  • Knowledge of cloud performance optimization and tuning.
  • Familiarity with networking, load balancing, API gateways, and high-availability concepts.
  • Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and Visio.
  • Awareness of emerging Dev Ops technologies, trends, and best practices.
