The Content Workflow Analyst is responsible for providing day‑to‑day monitoring, management, and support of TEGNA’s information technology platforms focused on newsroom and on‑air workflows, streaming workflows and applications. This includes supporting both on‑premise and cloud‑based technology, and supporting the end‑user community using these solutions. This position will work effectively with other IT teams, corporate departments, business units, consultants, vendors, and service providers to ensure smooth operation of TEGNA’s IT platforms and applications.
The Content Workflow Analyst will ensure that the appropriate and timely communication of information and events occurs between the team and the people we support.
- Design, implement, and operate newsroom, streaming, and on‑air technology platforms across on‑prem and cloud environments, including live production, control room automation, contribution, playout, and digital streaming workflows (e.g., CUEZ, newsroom systems, graphics, and automation platforms).
- Partner with station engineering, digital, streaming, and application owners to understand operational requirements, forecast capacity and costs, and deliver scalable, resilient solutions that support linear, OTT, and digital‑first production models.
- Troubleshoot, triage, and resolve production, streaming, and application issues impacting live broadcasts, live streams, and newsroom operations; perform root cause analysis and clearly document incidents, fixes, and preventative actions.
- Document end‑to‑end station workflows (newsroom → control room → streaming → distribution), maintain clear runbooks and knowledge base articles, and enable self‑service and Service Desk escalation paths where appropriate.
- Implement and operate monitoring, alerting, and automation workflows to proactively detect issues across broadcast, streaming, and cloud platforms; reduce mean time to detect (MTTD) and mean time to restore (MTTR).
- Maintain accurate inventories of applications, services, integrations, and versions for newsroom, streaming, and production systems within the Service Now CMDB to support reporting, lifecycle management, and incident response.
- Drive service quality and operational excellence by analyzing incidents, trends, and customer feedback; recommending process, tooling, or architecture improvements to improve stability and viewer experience.
- Adapt to changing newsroom and streaming demands, support special projects or live events as assigned, and constructively challenge existing processes to improve reliability, speed, and scalability.
- College degree, relevant certifications, or equivalent practical experience in broadcast, media technology, or IT operations.
- Hands‑on experience supporting broadcast, newsroom, and streaming technologies, such as Cuez or similar newsroom systems, graphics platforms, production control room automation, contribution/distribution systems, and live streaming workflows (experience with CUEZ or similar live production tools strongly preferred).
- Working knowledge of cloud and hybrid environments supporting media workflows (e.g., cloud-based contribution, streaming, monitoring, or playout).
- Strong understanding of IT service management concepts and tooling, including ITIL practices, incident/problem management, knowledge management, CMDBs, and Service Now.
- Proven ability to manage multiple operational priorities simultaneously, particularly in live production or time‑sensitive environments.
- Clear communicator who can translate technical issues into business and operational impact for engineers, newsroom staff, digital teams, vendors, and leadership.
- Analytical, methodical problem solver with the ability to diagnose complex issues across systems, networks, applications, and workflows.
