This is a remote opportunity Role:
Senior Service Now scoped-application architect/developer to lead O&M and enhancement work for three Library of Congress Service Now applications:
Pre Pub Book Link, MARS, and ISSN Uplink. The candidate must be able to inherit custom scoped applications, analyze existing code and workflows, estimate backlog stories, develop fixes and enhancements, support Service Now upgrades, coordinate Dev/Test/Production promotion, and work directly with product owners, business testers, the Service Now platform team, OCIO security, and the COR.
The candidate must demonstrate hands-on development experience in complex, scoped applications, including Service Now Customer Service Management/Customer Service module, AngularJS, Service Portal, HTML/CSS, scripting, workflow logic, integrations, JSON, and Python. Need demonstrable experience with ONIX, MARC
21, Integrated Library Systems, ISBN, ISSN, and ISNI, and the Library states it will not train the key resource on those standards.
Mandatory Requirements - The resume must clearly show:
- 12+ years of IT experience.
- 7+ years of Service Now experience.
- Hands-on work with complex custom/scoped Service Now applications.
- Service Now Customer Service module / CSM experience.
- AngularJS web development experience.
- HTML/CSS experience.
- Complex workflows, integrations, scripting, business rules, client scripts, UI actions, scheduled jobs, notifications, and portal work.
- JSON and Python.
- Automation of Service Now or integration components.
- MARC
21 and ONIX understanding. - Familiarity with ISBN, ISSN, and ISNI standards.
- Experience with Integrated Library Systems, preferably FOLIO, Voyager, Alma, OCLC Connexion, Koha, Sierra, or other cataloging/acquisitions systems.
Strongly Preferred:
- Service Now Service Portal development for public/external users.
- Experience with publisher, library, cataloging, acquisitions, metadata, serials, or bibliographic workflows.
- Experience building or maintaining MARC export/import logic.
- Experience parsing XML/ONIX files and mapping metadata to application records.
- API integration with FOLIO or another ILS.
- Experience with Service Now MID Server.
- Experience with update sets and Service Now application repository promotion.
- Experience supporting annual Service Now upgrades.
- Section 508/accessibility testing exposure.
- Federal client experience.
- Experience writing sprint estimates and working in Kanban/Scrum delivery.
Mandatory
Certifications:
- Active/verifiable ITIL v3 or higher.
- Active/verifiable Service Now Certified System Administrator.
- Active/verifiable Service Now Certified Application Developer.
- Active/verifiable Service Now Certified Implementation Specialist; CIS–CSM preferred. Other CIS specialties may be acceptable only if the candidate otherwise meets the exact Service Now CSM/scoped-app requirements.
