Safety National is a specialty insurance and reinsurance provider headquartered in Saint Louis. As part of our Advanced Analytics department we seek a motivated individual to support EDI operations and improve data quality.
Role DescriptionIf you are analytical, detail-oriented, and passionate about solving complex data quality issues, the EDI Operations Specialist role might be your ideal next step. In this role, you will take ownership of ensuring the accuracy and integrity of EDI data, which is critical for timely and informed business decision‑making. Acting as a subject matter expert in policies, coverage, and proprietary systems, you will validate and analyze claims data and partner with internal stakeholders and external TPAs to resolve anomalies.
You will lead root‑cause investigations of data quality problems, implement solutions, and provide guidance to peers while maintaining client‑specific coding, mapping, and cross‑reference data. Your contributions will directly impact the quality of production EDI data, positioning you as a vital team member in continuous process improvement and system integrity initiatives.
Non‑Exempt
:
This position is classified as Non‑Exempt under federal wage and hour laws. Employees are required to clock in and out for all hours worked and will be eligible for overtime pay for any hours worked over 40 in a given work week.
Required Qualifications:
- Presently authorized to work in the U.S. without a requirement for work authorization sponsorship now or in the future.
- Hybrid work schedule: at least 3 days per week in our St. Louis Corporate Office, 1832 Schuetz Rd., Saint Louis, MO. All employees must submit work‑from‑home requests and follow our Work From Home policy.
- One of the following combinations of education and experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in business analytics, data analytics, data science, or computer science.
- 2 or more years of experience in a data and/or operations role.
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Strong organizational, technical, and communication skills.
- Ability to solve complex data issues and work independently in a fast‑paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 4 or more years of experience in a data and/or operations role.
- Experience with EDI processing or claims systems.
- Familiarity with policy/client data validation processes.
- Demonstrated ability to train and guide team members.
Competitive base salary range: $53,500 to $69,000, depending on experience.
