Role SummaryNew Rocket is seeking a Principal Delivery Architect to lead solution architecture and delivery oversight for a telecommunications client engagement. This individual will serve as the senior technical authority on the engagement, responsible for translating business and operational requirements into a coherent technical roadmap, guiding delivery teams through implementation, and acting as a trusted technical advisor to client stakeholders.
This is a client-facing, senior-level position requiring deep delivery experience within complex, multi-stream telco environments, strong architectural judgment, and the ability to operate confidently in front of executive and technical audiences alike.
Key Responsibilities- Own end-to-end solution architecture across the engagement, ensuring technical decisions align with the client's business objectives, technical landscape, and long-term roadmap.
- Serve as the primary architectural point of contact for the client, building trusted relationships with client technical leadership and stakeholders.
- Translate business requirements into scalable, maintainable architecture and delivery plans, balancing speed, cost, and quality.
- Provide hands-on technical leadership and direction to delivery teams, including engineers, analysts, and project managers, ensuring consistent architectural standards across work streams.
- Identify and manage technical risks, dependencies, and integration points across telco-specific systems (eg OSS/BSS, network operations, customer experience platforms, order-to-activate workflows).
- Lead design reviews, architectural governance, and quality assurance checkpoints throughout the delivery lifecycle.
- Partner with project and program leadership to align architecture decisions with delivery timelines, scope, and budget.
- Mentor and develop delivery team members, raising the technical capability of the broader team over the course of the engagement.
- Produce and present clear, executive-ready documentation, architecture diagrams, and technical recommendations to client stakeholders.
- Stay current on telecommunications industry trends, regulatory considerations, and platform capabilities relevant to the engagement.
- 10+ years of experience in solution architecture, technical delivery, or systems integration, with significant exposure to the telecommunications industry.
- Demonstrated experience architecting and delivering large-scale, multi-stream technology implementations in a consulting or systems integrator environment.
- Strong working knowledge of telco operational domains, such as OSS/BSS, network service management, order management, or customer care platforms.
- Proven ability to lead and influence cross-functional delivery teams without direct line authority.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with experience engaging directly with client executives and technical leadership.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the judgment to make sound architectural trade-offs under real-world constraints.
- Experience working within structured delivery methodologies (Agile, hybrid, or traditional waterfall) on enterprise-scale programs.
- Prior experience delivering solutions on platforms commonly used in telco environments (eg Service Now, Salesforce, or comparable enterprise platforms).
- Relevant industry or platform certifications (eg TM Forum, architecture certifications, or platform-specific credentials).
- Experience supporting telco mergers, divestitures, or large-scale platform migrations.
- Familiarity with telco regulatory and compliance considerations.
