Responsibilities
Under general supervision, the candidate will provide second‑tier support for PC, server, and mainframe applications and hardware.
- Interact with network services, software systems engineering, and/or applications development to restore service or identify root causes.
- Simulate or recreate user problems to resolve operational difficulties.
- Recommend system modifications to reduce user problems.
- Maintain a high level of technical skill in the field of expertise.
- Perform software installation, configuration, and related tasks.
- Install, test, and troubleshoot personal computers, printers, and peripherals.
- Configure operating systems, load software, and diagnose hardware/software issues.
- Active Secret clearance and willingness to work on‑site in St. Louis, MO.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in PC/Desktop/IT support.
- Active CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, or CompTIA Security+ (any one). Must also hold current DoD 8570 IA Baseline Certification, IAT Level I (e.g., A+ CE, Network+ CE, SSCP, CCNA‑Security) and obtain the appropriate DoD 8570 IA Computing Environment Certification within 6 months of employment.
- Experience supporting Windows 7, Windows 10, MS Office 2013, and Office 365.
- Experience using Remedy or a similar ticketing system.
- Strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Ability to coordinate with multiple IT areas and work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of printer devices such as Lexmark, HP, or Ricoh is desirable.
- Prior USACE/ACE‑IT experience and experience working in a DoD environment are desirable.
- Expert level knowledge in desktop support is required.
This is a contract position based in St. Louis, MO. Fully onsite.
