Lead Security Issue Manager

Mastercard Corporate Security is seeking a Security Issue Manager to play a central role in driving documented shortfalls in security controls to resolution. The role requires application of technical controls knowledge, data visualization, and stakeholder engagement to manage security issues across the organization.

Overview

As a member of the Security Risk and Control Operations team, you will apply your practical knowledge of technical controls and leverage data visualization tools to identify issues requiring the attention of asset owners and senior managers, and facilitate the disposition of issues in a workflow involving multiple stakeholders.

In This Position, You Will:
  • Perform quality control over new issues submitted into the system
  • Engage with assessors, control owners, technology owners, and security engineers to move issues through workflows toward remediation
  • Enforce corporate standards for issue and policy exception management
  • Identify issues requiring escalation to senior management and coordinate the generation of associated agendas and materials
  • Develop and deliver executive-level updates on the status of security issues and enterprise-wide trends
  • Develop and maintain dashboards to convey awareness of the status of security issues
  • Compose responses to regulators and auditors on queries regarding security issues
  • Maintain documentation of issue management and analysis procedures for Corporate Security
The Ideal Candidate For This Position Should Be:
  • Professionally certified in networking or information security (e.g. CompTIA+)
  • Experienced in processing information security issues arising from compliance reviews and control testing
  • Knowledgeable of the general design and implementation of information security controls
  • Adept at recognizing control shortfalls with the most significant risk implications for the business
  • Comfortable using AI-based tools and automation (e.g. Copilot, Power Automate) to increase the speed and quality of workflows
  • Familiar with RSA Archer or similar governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) tools
  • Proficient in using Domo, Tableau, Power BI, or similar data visualization tools to make sense of large volumes of data
  • Effective at working with and communicating to a wide range of stakeholders across technology and business functions, including senior executives, product owners, and information security engineers
  • Able to influence and drive results cross-functionally

National Initiative for Cybersecurity Education (NICE) competency proficiency levels of advanced in leadership, operational, and professional, to advanced and expert in technical.

Corporate Security Responsibility
  • Abide by Mastercard’s security policies and practices;
  • Ensure the confidentiality and integrity of the information being accessed;
  • Report any suspected information security violation or breach;
  • Complete all periodic mandatory security trainings in accordance with Mastercard’s guidelines.
