Length: 5 month contract (potential extension)

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Site MES IT Coordinator to support the implementation, deployment, and ongoing support of a Manufacturing Execution System (MES) at a manufacturing site. This individual will serve as the primary site-level IT liaison, coordinating activities between manufacturing, quality, validation, global MES teams, infrastructure, ERP, vendors, offshore development teams, and implementation partners throughout the entire MES lifecycle.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong blend of technical MES knowledge, manufacturing operations experience, and project coordination expertise. This role requires the ability to translate business requirements into MES solutions, drive site readiness, support business process improvements, and ensure successful implementation through go‑live, hyper‑care, and steady‑state operations.

Responsibilities MES Project Coordination
  • Serve as the primary site-level IT coordinator for all MES implementation and support activities.
  • Coordinate the complete MES project lifecycle, including requirements gathering, solution design, configuration, testing, training, deployment, go‑live, hyper‑care, and transition to ongoing support.
  • Act as the primary liaison between site users, global MES teams, infrastructure, ERP, operations, quality, validation, vendors, implementation partners, and offshore development teams.
  • Build strong cross‑functional relationships to ensure alignment across technical and business stakeholders.
Business Process & Requirements Management
  • Partner with Operations and business users to capture, document, and clarify MES business requirements.
  • Support business process re‑engineering initiatives while aligning local manufacturing processes with global MES standards and templates.
  • Identify process gaps, local business needs, and operational constraints to ensure practical MES solutions.
  • Facilitate technical and functional discussions between site users and global implementation teams.
Site Readiness & Implementation Support
  • Coordinate site readiness activities including:
    • Infrastructure readiness
    • User access management
    • Shop floor devices
    • Barcode scanners
    • Printers
    • Manufacturing terminals
    • System interfaces
    • Network connectivity
  • Track implementation milestones, risks, issues, dependencies, action items, and project readiness.
  • Coordinate testing activities including User Acceptance Testing (UAT), integration testing, and support validation efforts.
  • Support successful MES deployment during go‑live and hyper‑care activities.
MES Support & Governance
  • Manage site-level MES governance by coordinating:
    • Support requests
    • Change requests
    • Enhancement requests
    • Priorities
    • Escalations
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Life Sciences, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • 10+ years of professional experience supporting MES implementations, manufacturing IT, or site-level IT project coordination.
  • Strong functional and technical understanding of Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES)
  • MES application support and administration
  • Requirements gathering and business process analysis
  • Business process re‑engineering and process optimization
  • Manufacturing system interfaces and integrations
  • User access management
  • Experience supporting MES implementations from planning through post‑go‑live support.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes within regulated production environments.
  • Experience coordinating cross‑functional teams in complex enterprise environments.
