Site MES IT Coordinator / MES Production Support Lead

Job Summary

We are seeking a Site MES IT Coordinator / MES Production Support Lead to support MES implementation, go‑live activities, hypercare, and steady‑state production support at a manufacturing site in St. Louis, MO. The ideal candidate will have strong functional and technical expertise in Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), experience in life sciences or regulated manufacturing environments, and the ability to coordinate across site users, Global MES teams, IT, Infrastructure, ERP, offshore development teams, vendors, and implementation partners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the primary site-level IT coordinator and governance contact for MES implementation and support activities.
  • Coordinate MES lifecycle activities including requirements gathering, design, build, testing, training, go‑live, hypercare, and steady‑state support.
  • Drive clarity in MES requirements by capturing site feedback, process gaps, user needs, and local constraints.
  • Support business process reengineering and alignment with the global MES template and standard operating procedures.
  • Track site-level MES actions, risks, issues, dependencies, decisions, and readiness activities.
  • Coordinate with Operations, Quality, MSAT, Validation, IT, Infrastructure, ERP, vendors, offshore development teams, and support teams.
  • Support site readiness activities including user access, shopfloor devices, printers, scanners, terminals, interfaces, and connectivity.
  • Log, track, and elevate MES incidents/issues with clear business impact, priority, and required details.
  • Coordinate L2/L3 production support activities, critical escalations, RCA completion, and implementation of permanent fixes.
  • Maintain knowledge base articles, support documentation, SOPs, work instructions, user guides, and training materials.
  • Contribute to release planning, configuration changes, backup/rollback planning, and post‑upgrade troubleshooting.
  • Create and publish monthly support performance reports, KPIs, trend analyses, and service metrics for stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Life Sciences, or a related field; equivalent experience considered.
  • 10+ years of experience in MES implementation, site IT coordination, or MES production support in manufacturing environments.
  • Strong functional and technical understanding of MES applications, interfaces, user access, infrastructure, shopfloor devices, and support processes.
  • Experience with business process reengineering, process alignment, requirements clarification, and translating site needs into MES requirements.
  • Hands‑on experience managing production support incidents, problem management, RCA, escalation management, and SLA adherence.
  • Experience working with distributed and offshore teams across multiple time zones.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prioritize workload and provide timely, accurate resolution of MES support issues.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in life sciences or pharmaceutical manufacturing environments.
  • Understanding of CSV (Computer System Validation) expectations and regulated manufacturing processes.
  • Experience supporting enterprise customers and coordinating with third‑party vendors and hosting providers.
  • Knowledge of Agile methods, operating systems, software platforms, and integrated development environments (IDEs).
  • Prior UST experience is preferred.
