Programmer Analyst – Application Administrator IT Operations

What You Will Be Doing: As a Programmer Analyst within our operations support team, you will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing a diverse portfolio of applications, including IBM Maximo, custom Java/Spring Boot integrations, and vended systems like Telog, Granite Net, and Data Splice. You will work closely with team members and end users to troubleshoot issues, develop integrations, and implement system enhancements.

This role involves knowledge transfer, documentation, and support continuity, with a focus on operational excellence. The position is a 6‑month contract with the potential for extension or permanent opportunity.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support and enhance a portfolio of operational applications, including IBM Maximo (EAM), Red Hat Open Shift, and custom Java/Spring Boot integrations.
• Troubleshoot and resolve application issues in collaboration with end users to ensure minimal downtime.
• Develop and maintain APIs, data interfaces, and system workflows for seamless data exchange.
• Implement configuration changes and minor enhancements to existing applications.
• Participate in system upgrades, patches, and routine maintenance activities.
• Create and maintain technical documentation outlining system flows, support procedures, and configurations.
• Design and execute test plans for new enhancements and bug fixes.
• Collaborate with business analysts and end users to clarify requirements and deliver solutions.
• Follow ITIL‑based support and change management processes to ensure consistent service delivery.
• Provide after‑hours on‑call support on a rotating basis, approximately one week in six.

Required

Skills & Experience:

• 4‑7+ years of experience in application support, development, or a similar role.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Proficiency with Java, particularly Spring Boot framework.
• Strong knowledge of SQL and relational database management.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with end users and technical teams.
• Experience working within IT support or operations environments.
• High School Diploma or equivalent and a valid Driver's License.

Desired

Skills & Experience:

• Experience with enterprise asset management systems, such as Maximo.
• Familiarity with system integration platforms, APIs, or middleware.
• Support experience with multiple operational applications.
• Exposure to utility, infrastructure, or public sector environments.

Pay: $37.80 – $54.00/hr
