Axiom Technologies is seeking a Data Center Support Technician to join our team in St. Louis, MO
. This is a full-time onsite role responsible for supporting day-to-day data center operations, coordinating with vendors, maintaining hardware infrastructure, and ensuring compliance with data center operational standards.
- Escort and manage vendors (e.g., HPE, Cisco, and other third-party vendors) during onsite activities.
- Perform tape rotations and coordinate media management with Iron Mountain.
- Conduct daily data center walkthroughs and general housekeeping activities.
- Perform quarterly inventory of all hardware devices within the data center.
- Rack, stack, install, and cable IT equipment as required.
- Provide hands-and-eyes technical support for Windows (Wintel) and network infrastructure teams.
- Coordinate vendor activities related to data center floor maintenance.
- Execute access control and compliance activities.
- Create and manage change requests for planned maintenance activities.
- Ensure the EPO/Fire Ecardo system is properly disabled before maintenance work begins, following established procedures.
- Maintain inventory of cables, accessories, and supplies in the designated storage area.
- Install, remove, and manage structured cabling as required.
- Coordinate with the local building facilities team regarding new power and cooling requirements.
- Update and maintain rack elevation diagrams and documentation.
- Update and maintain data center floor plans.
- Manage rack components and floor tiles as required to support infrastructure changes.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience supporting enterprise data center operations.
- Knowledge of server hardware installation, racking, stacking, and structured cabling.
- Experience working with enterprise vendors such as HPE, Cisco, Dell, or similar.
- Understanding of change management and access control processes.
- Ability to maintain accurate inventory and documentation.
- Strong communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced production environment.
- Capable of lifting and moving IT equipment when required.
- Full-Time, Onsite.
