What You Will Be Doing:As a Data Architect within our data management and cloud infrastructure team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing architecture patterns across systems to support enterprise data initiatives. You will collaborate with stakeholders to define data requirements, build conceptual and logical data models, and establish data flow and integration patterns aligned with event‑driven architectures. This role involves supporting the buildout of reporting, analytics, and data science capabilities in AWS, while ensuring data security, performance, and scalability.
This is a 6-month contract position with the possibility of extension or conversion.
- Design and document scalable, secure AWS infrastructure environments using multi‑account architectures.
- Develop and extend conceptual and logical data models, including customer and domain‑specific models supporting business activities.
- Establish data integration patterns from multiple sources to create consolidated views such as a customer 360 profile.
- Implement and optimize data flow patterns based on Command Query Responsibility Segregation (CQRS), supporting event‑driven processing.
- Manage and optimize Databricks work spaces and clusters for robust performance, scalability, and cost‑efficiency.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning and deployment using Terraform scripts and manage CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins.
- Configure advanced networking components including VPCs, Transit Gateways, and secure connectivity options like AWS Direct Connect and VPNs.
- Enforce data security and governance using Unity Catalog, IAM policies, and access controls.
- Monitor system performance with AWS Cloud Watch and Prometheus, setting up alerts to handle anomalies proactively.
- Troubleshoot network, deployment, and data pipeline issues to ensure high availability and data integrity.
Skills & Experience:
- 3‑5+ years of experience in cloud data architecture, with strong expertise in Amazon Web Services (AWS).
- Hands‑on experience managing Databricks work spaces, clusters, and Unity Catalog.
- Expert knowledge of Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
- Proven experience designing and managing CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins.
- Strong mastery of networking concepts including VPCs, Transit Gateways, and routing.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python and Bash.
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Mathematics, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- High School Diploma or equivalent and a valid Driver's License.
Skills & Experience:
- Prior experience with data modeling and metadata management in large‑scale enterprise environments.
- Knowledge of data governance frameworks and data security best practices.
- Exposure to data science or analytics platforms integrated with cloud architectures.
- Certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect, Advanced Networking, or Databricks certifications.
$67.90 – $97.00 /hr
